During the remodel of our townhouse kitchen I was presented with the opportunity that the original light in the kitchen posed. Those old 4 ft flourescents mounted up into the ceiling had to go. I needed something interesting, different, something more like me! Something that I would be proud to be part of. The whole remodel was already radically different from anything else seen in our community in these 30 year old townhouse kitchens.

I was fortunate enough to have worked with a pleasant, courteous sales rep in your shop. The installation was easily managed even for a novice such as myself. The instructions were clear and concise. The gold panels are installed and completely finished and are certainly a real focal point in the kitchen. I get a kick out of watching newcomers to our home checking it out. |

Since the recess is 5 1/2" deep, I was able to fashion a 'picture frame' for the space, framing it in, extending into the space itself several inches. Along the inside edge of that ceiling mounted frame, I mounted crown molding and gilded that to match the ceiling. I then located some super slim, lo profile, lo-volt track lighting from an interested local light salesperson and was able to mount that up on the topside of that frame to be concealed behind the crown and ilimunate the ceiling panels while still offering unobstructed view of the entire space. Wow! That dimmable light system up there is totally cool on the gold. |

Then a simple spot light located right in the center, also gilded gold, gives a whole new dimension to the project. This ceiling is a real show stopper now and when glowing in the evening is just way beyond the norm. The last thing I wanted was a ceiling like everybody else's and thanks to you folks at The American Tin Ceiling Co. that's one worry I have crossed off my list! Thank you for this opportunity to share my story with you,
Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Why are Tin Ceilings so popular today?
Tin Ceilings remind us of a different time in our country's history. Tin Ceilings stir memories of gentler days when elegance and beauty reigned. A slower paced era where style and grace were the watchwords in home decor. Old time victorian homes, formal parlors, farmhouses with wood burning stoves and other historic architecture we've seen in literature and film or remember from our childhood.
It is said that "Everything Old Becomes New Again". It reinvents itself and becomes fashionable again, perhaps because it was so fashionable in the first place. Fashion goes in and out of style as modern ideas are introduced to the market. But the popular styling's of the past always cycle back into modern contemporary culture. The Tin Ceiling exemplifies this concept.
