Brown is a staple of fall color but that doesn’t automatically mean boring. Brown is a warm color that’s inviting and comfortable. It plays well with other colors and can’t be beat for adding richness to your design.
Fall 2021 color trends embrace rich chocolatey hues and herbal brown tones. Depending on how you use brown, it can blend into the background as a neutral or it can make a bold statement. Think creatively about how you apply brown. All your woods, like cabinets, furniture, and even paneling add the richness of brown. It’s also excellent used as a main color in the palette in drapery, upholstery, rugs, even accent walls or ceiling color.

Fall 2021 color trends dictate that olive green is the green to have this season. A classic color that travels and ages well, olive can act as a neutral or a statement color. It’s warmth lends well to liberal use on walls, floors, and ceilings.

Blue is the magic color. It can go anywhere and all types of blue work in any space. Of particular interest this fall is a lighter blue with hints of gray like steel blue. Another favored color this fall is a vibrant blue with a touch of black, somewhere between cobalt and navy.
Both of these blues work well in large quantities so go for cabinets, paint the walls, or look for larger furniture pieces. Blue is another color that can show up as a neutral or main color so you really can’t go wrong with how you apply it in design.

Pink in the fall? Yes, please. This fall you’ll see plenty of fuschia, a bold pink that has no problem making its presence known. Though associated more with summer, this pink lingers into the fall with vibrance yet adds warmth too
Use it as an accent or as part of a graphic pattern. Steer clear of floral patterns unless you’re going for a boho modern vibe.
Neutrals for this fall include whites with a touch of brown that soften them into cream and ivory. Also look for deep, soft grays that are just a bit lighter than a 50/50 mix of black and white. Beige is coming back with some warm blonde highlights. Keep your neutrals warm and you can’t go wrong.
Some colors can act as neutrals like blue and green. Either can be used as a neutral this fall and still look great years from now. Don’t be afraid to slather on the blue or green in your permanent features or as an accent color that plays well with other colors.
