Interior Design Focus: Jill Wolff

January 2, 2014

When a picture stands out, it stands out. Garnering more than 6,000 loves and comments on Houzz, we had to find out why acclaimed designer Jill Wolff chose a tin backsplash for her Breezy Brentwood remodel. Featured in LUXE Interiors, the LA Times and a variety of other notable interior design resources, Jill shares with us how tin became a staple accent piece for her homes and many other design enthusiasts.

Home Style: East Coast Traditional

Home Location: Brentwood, CA

Patterns/Colors Installed: Pattern #3 in Brushed Satin Nickel. This specific installation is in the Butler’s Pantry, which connects the kitchen and the dining room.

How did you find out about tin as a backsplash option?
Many years back, I saw it in a retail installation.

Did you consider any other materials? If so, which ones?
No, we wanted tin from the beginning of the project.

Approximately how much research did you do ahead of time?
Very little, I had purchased your product before and knew what I wanted.

How did you find out about the American Tin Ceiling Company?
Google search.

Which installation type did you purchase (Snaplock, Nailup, etc.)?

Did you install it yourself? If not, who did? Was it as easy as they explained?
My finish carpenter installed it, he had no issues.

Would you use it again?

What has the response/feedback been like?
We have had thousands of people love it on Houzz. My clients say that it is one of the most “talked about” materials in their home - friends are always commenting and asking about it.

Any future projects in the works for tin?
It’s always in my wheelhouse.

Anything else you’d like to share or want us to know?
I have been an interior designer for 30 years and am always looking for new and interesting products. American Tin Ceilings is always innovative!
