Where Rugged Meets Refined: Inside the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Lounge

Nestled in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains, the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley East stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of nature's raw beauty and modern luxury. At the heart of this alpine retreat lies the Lounge at Remington Hall, a space meticulously crafted by Studio Garrison to encapsulate the essence of 'tailored rusticity.'

Embracing 'Tailored Rusticity'

Studio Garrison's design philosophy for the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley East revolves around 'tailored rusticity,' a concept that marries the rugged charm of mountain landscapes with the sophistication of contemporary design. By integrating natural materials such as stone and reclaimed wood with sleek, modern elements, the design achieves a balance that is both inviting and elegant.

A Nod to Mining Heritage

The Lounge pays homage to the region's rich mining history through its earthy color palette and choice of materials. Doors reminiscent of those from historic mining offices greet guests, setting a tone of nostalgic charm. Luxurious wood tones, supple leathers, and opulent fabrics elevate the space, creating an atmosphere that feels both grounded in heritage and refined in sophistication.

Acoustic Tin Ceilings: Function Meets Aesthetics

One of the standout features of the Lounge is its acoustic tin ceiling. These panels not only enhance the visual appeal, reflecting the intricate patterns reminiscent of the mining era, but also serve a functional purpose by reducing noise levels. This thoughtful integration ensures a comfortable and intimate environment for guests to relax and connect.

Designers chose Pattern #31 with Filler #1 and Molding #3 as accents. A custom finish in white completed the rustic-yet-modern look and feel of the Lounge, from the top down.

Culinary Excellence in a Refined Setting

Complementing the Lounge's design is its culinary offering. Under the guidance of acclaimed Culinary Director Chef Marc Marrone and celebrated NYC mixologist Frank Maldonado, the Lounge presents a menu that blends classic American fare with innovative twists. Dishes like wild boar bolognese and cocktails such as the Whispering Moon reflect the same balance of tradition and modernity found in the Lounge's design.

A Space for Connection and Reflection

The Lounge at Remington Hall is more than just a dining area; it's a space that invites guests to immerse themselves in the spirit of the past and present. Whether it's the live-edge bar seating, the vibrant teal wall tiles, or the grand tile fireplace, every element has been thoughtfully curated to foster a sense of connection and relaxation.

In crafting the Lounge, Studio Garrison has not only created a visually stunning space but also one that resonates with the history and beauty of its surroundings. It's a place where guests can unwind, reflect, and experience the seamless blend of rugged mountain charm and refined luxury.
