Are the tiles made from genuine tin-plated steel or substitute materials?

American Tin Ceilings uses only .010-gauge T1-grade tin-plated steel (made from 25% recycled steel with a 100% virgin tin coating), the same material specification as original 19th-century tin ceilings. We never use aluminum, plastic, foam, or other substitute materials. This matters both for authenticity and for BABA compliance: genuine tin-plated steel clearly meets the domestic iron and steel requirements of the Act.
